I’m Milo – I provide a safe, welcoming space for you to feel your feelings and be yourself. I offer sessions in my Edmonton office, walking outside, or virtually across Alberta. Complex trauma is how our bodies react to experiences that are too much or not enough for too long. As adults, it can be confusing to navigate triggers and extreme-feeling emotions which feel hard to control or trust. There are a lot of ways people describe the impacts of prolonged or developmental suffering: C-PTSD, BPD, insecure attachment styles, dissociative identity… whether you have been given a diagnosis or not, there are lots of ways we can build safety, trust, resilience, and calm in your life.
Our relationships are one of the most important things in life, yet it’s common to get stuck in cycles of arguing, criticism, defensiveness, and distancing. Everyday stress, from parenting to finances, can feel overwhelming. Old wounds can affect the way we show up. Betrayals, grief, and shared traumatic experiences can make connection suddenly feel painful and confusing. I am here to support you in having the relationships you want in your life: where you can feel safe, be yourself, and thrive in interdependence.
Everyone deserves to have a safe adult in their life who understands and celebrates where they are coming from. I support Two Spirit and LGBTQ+ youth (all ages) with their big emotions, their big questions, and all of the experiences life might throw their way. Depression, anxiety, and relationship troubles are unfortunately common for teens experiencing oppression and marginalization. I’m here to help youth find their creativity, courage, and connectedness.
I’m Milo Offerein (they/them), I provide trauma-informed psychotherapy for adults, youth, and couples. I’m interested in the way that nature teaches us how to “self-direct, self-correct, and self-actualize”, the amazing resilience of human beings, and spreading hope. Oh, and I’m an astrology nerd!

Everyone comes to therapy with a unique history and context. Connecting to your body and emotions is a journey… and trauma, grief, pain, stress, neurodiversity, and marginalization don’t make it simple. Together, we will use trauma-informed, relational, and somatic strategies to befriend your body, regulate your nervous system, and understand your world.
Moving out of survival mode takes gentleness. Let’s remind your nervous system how to heal itself with parts work (Internal Family Systems), expressive arts, mindfulness, mind-body connection, and lots of playfulness and laughter. When we encounter traumas and repeating cycles along the way, we’ll meet them with bravery and self acceptance.
Your life is not a single story: it’s hundreds of stories! As you move through resolving and recovering from your past, new stories about the future come into perspective. I love writing and record-keeping as a way of tracking our progress together, and storytelling as a way to speak new possibilities into existence.
The progress and healing that happens in therapy is supposed to come home with you! That’s why I love the narrative therapy practice of writing therapeutic letters. I set aside time after every session to reflect on and celebrate the work that we did together, and then send it your way! Not only does this have the practical benefit of helping you remember what we talked about in our session, but it helps the profound things that happen in our sessions stay with you into your everyday life.
