I’m Milo Offerein (they/them): a social worker and mental health therapist working with people healing from complex trauma and dissociation, LGBTQ+ youth and adults, and couples stuck in high-conflict cycles.
You deserve therapy for exactly who you are and what you’ve been through. My sessions are warm, paced to your nervous system, and grounded in evidence-based care. I believe that a safe, welcoming space for you to feel your feelings and be yourself is the foundation for all good therapy, which is why I strive for anti-oppressive, LGBTQ+ affirming, neuro-affirming, and trauma-informed therapy in every single session.
• Online across Alberta • In-person & walk-and-talk in Edmonton •
In my practice, I center queer and neurodivergent experiences so that you don’t have to translate yourself to me.
These are the communities and challenges I’ve dedicated my training and clinical work to as a therapist.
Dissociation, emotional flashbacks, shame, hypervigilance, attachment wounds, the functional trauma of growing up neurodivergent, chronic pain, burnout, dissociative identities, feeling disconnected from yourself.
EMDR, IFS-informed parts work, and somatic approaches.
Feel like a real person.
Escalating arguments, communication breakdowns, anxious & avoidant attachment, betrayal and trust repair, neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ couples, sexual disconnection, polyamorous relationships, co-parenting, caregiver burnout, challenging family dynamics.
RLT and trauma-informed relationship therapy.
Feel protected and connected.
Coming out, healthy sexuality and gender identity, trans and nonbinary support, religious trauma, family rejection, queering spirituality, neurodivergent queer experience, dysphoria, body image, relationships, self-esteem.
Flexible, adaptable, affirming approaches that are not one-size-fits-all.
Feel like yourself.
• About your therapist •
I’m a Registered Social Worker (Provisional) trained in IFS-informed parts work, EMDR (Level 2), Relational Life Therapy (Level 1), and trauma-informed somatic approaches.
I am obsessed with the way that human brains have the natural ability to heal and grow. After experiencing my own nervous system transformation with EMDR and parts work, I am deeply inspired to help other people experience the version of themselves they want to be. My very specific combination of structured and flexible is key to one of my favourite skills as a therapist: getting it to work for people who usually struggle with therapy.
I want the care you receive to fit your schedule and how you actually live your life.
Weekly or biweekly 50-minute sessions for ongoing therapy. For those who like some extra time, longer sessions are also available.
Joint sessions for two or more people. All forms of relationships are welcome in my practice: couples, parents and children, poly relationships, friendships.
Sessions outdoors in the Highlands neighbourhood. Invite movement and the natural world to support you in the work!
EMDR, parts work, psychospiritual, and nature therapy intensives for accelerated processing or stress reduction: this is therapy for those who need accelerated support.
These are the branches of therapy that inform what happens in your session.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing helps your brain reprocess distressing memories so they feel less emotionally charged and more integrated.
Internal Family Systems updates your nervous system for safety, reprocesses distressing memories, and brings out your natural calm, curiosity, and creativity.
Nature and Forest Therapy walks are gentle experiences that support healing through intentional connection with the natural and more-than-human world.
Relational Life Therapy is a practical, relationship-focused approach that identifies and transforms the patterns keeping people stuck.
Client-led, trauma-informed psychospiritual supports are available to those who ask.

Yes. I offer a free 20-minute video consultation (or phone call, your choice) so we can talk about what brings you in and whether we’re a good fit. Anyone who is going to participate in the therapy is welcome to participate in the consultation (one, two, three, or more people). There’s no obligation to book again!
Both are available. Most clients meet with me in-person in my office space in Edmonton’s Highlands neighborhood. However, virtual sessions are easily available.
Outdoor walk-and-talk sessions are available year ’round, no matter the weather. We always meet at the Highlands office to begin and end walking sessions, unless another meeting place is agreed on in advance.
Virtual sessions are available to anyone in Alberta, and take place over the Jane App platform. You will be sent a secure link in advance of your session automatically.
During your consultation or intake, we’ll discuss whether you prefer in-person, outdoor, virtual, or a hybrid model for your therapy.
Yes. I work with youth (10+), young adults, adults, and parents seeking support.
My current schedule includes Sunday, including Sunday evening.
My full availability for in-person sessions is: Sunday 9:30am-9:30pm, Monday 9:30am-6:30pm, and Tuesday 9:30am-6:30pm.
My availability for virtual sessions is: Monday 9:30am-6:30pm and Tuesday 11:30am-4:30pm.
Sessions are $195 per clinical hour (which is 50 minutes of session time + 10 minutes of notetaking and administration).
If you book a longer or shorter session, the price remains consistent:
Limited sliding scale slots are available. Please inquire during your consultation if you may require financial assistance to attend therapy.
Most clients commit to weekly sessions.
Evidence shows that a consistent schedule supports therapy’s effectiveness, especially trauma work like EMDR, RLT, or parts work. Like yoga, exercise, or writing, regulating your nervous system is a practice that benefits from consistent attention.
That said, I recommend choosing a frequency that genuinely works for your life: a commitment to attend therapy once every one, two, three, or four weeks can all show great results.
I offer direct billing to Blue Cross and Medavie Blue Cross.
I’m a Registered Social Worker/Master of Social Work. Many extended health plans cover RSW/MSW services. For insurance plans not listed above, you must cover the cost of the session up front, and I will provide receipts for you to submit for reimbursement.
